The Annual Philosophy of Logic, Math, and Physics (LMP) Graduate Conference

CALL FOR PAPERS NOW OPEN

Conference date and location: May 27-28, 2025. Western University, Department of Philosophy.

The graduate students of the philosophy department at Western University (London, Ontario) are excited to announce our 24th annual Graduate Student Conference, taking place in person on May 27th and 28th. The aim of this conference is to promote cooperation and critical engagement amongst graduate students doing research in the philosophies of physics, mathematics, and logic.

We are pleased to announce that our keynote speaker is Steven Weinstein, Associate Professor at the University of Waterloo. Steven is an Affiliate of the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics, with research focusing on the foundations of physics, the nature of time, and interpretations of quantum mechanics.

Call for Papers: Graduate students who have not yet defended their PhD thesis are invited to submit papers on any topic in philosophy of logic, philosophy of mathematics, and philosophy of physics.

Submission Guidelines: 

  • Submissions are accepted via email to uwolmp@gmail.com.
  • Maximum 5000 words, including footnotes and appendices (but not references). If the paper includes tables, figures, or equations, an appropriate number of words should be subtracted from the limit. 
  • Papers should be accompanied by an abstract that is no longer than 300 words.
  • Papers are to be prepared for anonymous review (meaning your name should not appear within the paper).

CFP closes on April 5th, 2025.

Accepted Papers: Each presenter will be allocated an hour-long time slot; presentations should be approximately 40 minutes long, with 20 minutes for a Q&A period.
